Sprint All-Star Race

So the wild cards were AJ, Clint Boyer- Clint won the shootout with AJ in second, and Jose Wise who with his Dogecoin backers handily won the Fan vote....

Sorry Kyle Larson... no all star for you... insert sad face here...

Tonight is the All-Star race and it is all about a million dollars...

A short race- no points- the best of the best.

4  20-lap segments followed by 10 green flag laps...

Carl Edwards got the pole, Kyle Busch is with him on the frong row, and sad for both Denny and Smoke, who got sent to the back...

Three cheers to Kurt Busch chasing history doing double duty... Stock cars will seem slow to hom after the speed at Indy!

And Jimmie- really... Your warm-up for today was an Olympic Triathlon? Some people would call that showing off... Fastest lap on a mile and a half...

So our line-up of All-Stars by row:
Carl, Kyle,
Jeff, Harvick,
Jimmie, Junior
Kasey, Matt
Boyer, Logano
McMurray, Truex,
Brad, Greg
Smoke, Vickers
AJ,  Kurt
Wise, Ragan
Ryan, Denny

For 90 miles, it is all about the win...

Segment One was all about Carl for nine laps and then Kyle...who has not won at Charlotte in Sprint cup car...ran away from the field... with Gordon behind him closing fast on lap 18...

Segment Two after a mix of pit road strategies- including Denny Hamlin not pitting at all- saw him and Brad  on front row and after the start they were closely followed by Kurt and Edwards...

Gordon came up to play and he Brad and Edwards danced till Kyle Busch in eight  spun on lap 6 after clipping Clint Boyer and then took out Logano in twelfth in turn 3 for our first caution.

On the restart, Clint smoked and AJ was spun out after Greg pushed Vicker into him before a lap was done. I wonder how many guys will be wrecked out of the race... Poor AJ... Denny, after contact with Greg- lost a tire, but couldn't pit and lost a lap.

On Lap 15 Kasey and Carl battled over the lead before Kasey took it... and he won the segment.

Segment Three saw McMurray, Matt, Brad and Truex skip pitting for track position.
Kasey blew through traffic to chase down McMurray and retake the lead. He held it for the segment!

Segment Four saw Jimmie Brad McMurray and Kurt taking only 2 tires to get track position- Kurt picked up 11 spots~ that is amazing.

Jimmie fell like a stone before caution came out on the third lap when Gordon came up into  Truex and Greg couldn't stop and they all got together- Gordon went up in flames. All three are out.

16 cars are still racing and 6 are done for the night...And all the two tire folks must be glad to have the caution laps.

Kasey and Ryan both hit the wall, And McMurray and Harvick battled for the lead with 7 laps to go. Harvick then drove away from the field. Ryan Newman lost a tire right before pit road closed, so he was able to pit...

When the field was reset to best average running order,  we had Harvick Kasey McMurray  Jimmie Junior as the top five running averages. They are followed by Carl, Matt, Brad, Vickers, Kurt, Boyer Hamlin, Smoke, Ragan and Josh Wise. Kasey had to go to the back because he had damage going into the wall.

So that is the order they will pit in, and the 4 tire change is mandatory for everyone- the order off will set the field for our final start...

Ten wild laps togo for a winner...

And they are Edwards, McMurray, Harvick, Matt, Jimmie, Junior, Hamlin, Boyer, Kurt, Vickers, Brad... and they go to the green..

Edwards and McMurray bashing and banging- they trade paint as McMurray takes the lead and raced away from the field... and won

 1 MILLION DOLLARS!
