On December 20th 2002, a Friday just like today, I got a call that changed my life. My mom had collapsed at work. She did not regain consciousness before dying on Christmas night.
Today, in honor of her, I am thankful for:
1) First responders
2) ER nurses
3) ICU nurses
4) those last few days to say goodbye
5) her lasting presence in my life
I love you, Mom. Always!
